TOP 2 ALL TIME

Donald Hayes-  Hayes was one of the most athletic student athletes to go through East High School.  He made spectacular plays, and wow'd the crowd with his thunderous dunks, and perimiter game.  At 6'6", he was a pure athlete.  Donald was on the Varsity East team for 3 seasons, and was a big contributer.  The 1994 graduate, is currently the all time leading scorer in East History (1346), and also the all time leading rebounder (545).  He did it all, literally.  A quiet, and inteligent player, he used those skills on the basketball court, and in the classroom.  Donald was an All-City, All-Conference, and All-State performer, for BOTH Basketball and Football!  After graduating from East, and earning a spot on the athletic hall of fame here, he went on to take a full scholorsip offer from the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Football.  After playing 4 seasons there, he entered the NFL draft and got drafted in the 4th round by the New England Patriots!  After playing a numerous amount of games, surpasing 9 touchdowns and almost 2000 yards recieving, and playing on 3 teams, Donald called it quits after a long and successful career.  One of the most respected student athletes to come out of East High, Donald Hayes!

Roy Boone- A 1997 East Graduate, may be one of the most intreaguing stories to come into Purgolder Nation.  The Detroit, Michigan Native, moved to Madison for his Junior and Senior years at East.  He became an instant hit, starting in every game in those 2 seasons.  Coming from a bad part of Detroit, he got a chance at a new life here at East, and basketball was his savior.  Earning All-City, All-Conference, and All-State during his 2 year tenure, Roy sits right below Hayes in all time scoring (1007) and currently is 6th in rebounding (298), remember this was all in TWO seasons!  After East, Boone went on to play collegiate basketball at Coffeville Community College in Kansas for 2 seasons, and then got a call from UW-Madison coach Dick Bennett.  He offered him a scholorship for his remaining two academic seasons.  Roy led his 2000 Badger team to a Final Four appearance, which happens to be the last time the Badgers went.  Roy started both of his seasons, and was a huge part of the success during the 2000 finals run!  After graduating from UW Madison, he went on to play 3 years with the Rockford Lightning, a CBA professional team!  Roy also helped coach the Sophomore team with Brian Matthews 2 years ago!  Roy's story will live on in East history for years to come!
